Two-step login
Two-step login means signing in takes your password and a 6-digit code. Even if someone learns your password, they can't get in without the code. It's optional, and it takes about a minute to set up.
Two ways to get your code
- An authenticator app (best). A free app on your phone makes a new code every 30 seconds. It works with no signal. Use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy.
- Email. We email you a code each time you sign in. Each code works once, for 10 minutes.
Turn it on
- Tap the Settings tab (drivers: Account), then find Security.
- Tap Turn on two-step login.
- Pick An authenticator app or A code sent to my email, type your password, and tap Continue.
- App: in the app, tap + and scan the square code with your phone. If you're setting up on the same phone, tap Open in my authenticator app, or type the key by hand. Email: open the email from 10-4 Hauler.
- Type the 6-digit code and tap Finish setup.
- Save your 10 backup codes. Tap Download or Print. They're only shown once.
Keep your backup codes off your phone. Put the printout with your truck papers or somewhere at home. If you lose your phone, each backup code gets you in once.
Signing in with two-step login
- Type your email and password as usual.
- Type the 6-digit code from your app or email and tap Sign in.
- On your own phone or computer, tick Trust this device for 30 days and it won't ask for a code there for a month. Don't tick it on a shared computer.
No phone handy? Tap Email me a code instead, or Use a backup code.
Changing it later
In Settings, under Security, you can switch between the app and email, set up the app again on a new phone, make new backup codes, or turn it off. Each of these asks for your password and a current code. We email you whenever two-step login is turned on or off, or a backup code is used.
Under Where you're signed in you can see every phone and computer signed in to your account and sign out any you don't recognize. Changing your password also forgets trusted devices, so they ask for a code again.
Lost your phone and your backup codes?
Email info@10-4hauler.com from the address on your account. Once we're sure it's really you, we reset your two-step login so you can sign in with your password and turn it back on.
