10-4 HaulerGuides

An owner-operator expense tracker that reads your receipts

Fuel, tires, tolls, insurance, the truck payment. The money goes out fast, and the receipts end up on the dash or in a shoebox. 10-4 Hauler lets you snap a photo of each receipt, fills in the details for you, and shows what each truck really keeps after every cost.

Plans start at $5 a month per truck, 30-day free trial, no card needed.

Snap a receipt and the form fills itself in

On the Expenses tab, tap Snap a receipt and take a picture, or pick one you already took. 10-4 Hauler reads the receipt and fills in what it can: the date, the total, the vendor, the gallons on a fuel receipt, and a category that fits. You check it, pick the truck, and tap save. It takes a few seconds at the pump.

The photo is kept with the expense and saved to your account, so you can open it from any phone or computer. Expenses with a photo show a Receipt tag. Tap it to see the receipt full size. Took a bad picture? Retake it, or save the expense without one and add the photo later.

Categories that fit trucking

Quick buttons cover the everyday costs in one tap: Fuel, DEF, Repairs, Tires, Tolls, Parts, Meals and Scale tickets. Everything else is in one list, grouped the way a trucking business thinks about money:

Fuel expenses with gallons also give you your miles per gallon and average price per gallon, once your jobs have miles on them.

Bills that repeat, entered once

Insurance, truck payments, your ELD subscription and your phone plan don't need to be typed every month. Add each one as a monthly bill, choose how often it repeats (every month, every 3 months, every 6 months or every year), and set when it stops if it ends, like a truck loan. It's counted in every month on its own, so your profit isn't too rosy just because a bill wasn't entered.

What each truck really keeps

Pick the truck on every expense you can. That's what makes the numbers honest. The Fleet tab shows profit by truck for the month: revenue from its jobs, minus driver pay and its expenses. A truck that cost more than it brought in shows in red. Costs that aren't tied to a truck, like your accountant, show on their own line, so nothing gets lost.

The dashboard puts it together: revenue, other income, expenses, driver pay and profit for this month and this year so far, plus Kept from each $1, the cents of every dollar left after costs. An expenses table shows the month's costs by type, biggest first, so you can see where the money goes.

Ready for your accountant

One tap downloads a month, a year or all your records to an Excel workbook: jobs, expenses, trucks and more. You can also download a full backup, receipt photos included. Money that isn't from a job, like a fuel tax refund or a rebate, goes in as other income so it counts toward profit.

Private by design

10-4 Hauler doesn't ask for CDL numbers, medical card details, Social Security numbers or full bank or card numbers, and it doesn't track your location. It keeps your jobs, expenses and receipts, and that's it.

Common questions

What does 10-4 Hauler read from a receipt photo?

It fills in the date, total, vendor, fuel gallons and a category. You check the details, pick the truck and save. You can always change anything it filled in.

Can I see expenses for each truck separately?

Yes. Pick the truck on each expense, and the Fleet tab shows each truck's expenses and profit for the month. Expenses without a truck show as Not tied to a truck.

Do I still need to keep paper receipts?

10-4 Hauler keeps a photo with each expense and includes the photos in your backup. Ask your accountant what records you need to keep for taxes.
