Logging a load
Every job goes in the Add job form. As you type, the dark box near the bottom figures your pay, so you can check it before you save.
Log today in three steps
- Tap your truck under Log today, at the top of the Dashboard or Jobs & loads.
- Type today's hours, tons, loads or miles. Your pay appears below the number.
- Tap Save. Done. Use Add details later, or Undo to remove it.
Your last job supplies the broker, site, material, work type, rate, fees, guarantee, driver and job costs. Ticket numbers, times and extra quantities are never needed to save. For a first job or Different job today?, choose who it is for, how you are paid and the rate first. That saved job becomes your usual job next time. You can log more than one job per truck each day.
More options: the full job form
Tap More options or + Add job for the full form.
- Tap + Add job. It's the yellow button at the bottom right of the Dashboard and Jobs & loads tabs.
- Under The job, check the Date, then fill in the Truck, Driver, Broker / company, Job / site, Material hauled and Ticket numbers you want to keep. Picking a broker fills in their usual fee, fuel surcharge and payment terms. You can change these for this job. If you have only one truck, it is selected automatically and the Truck box stays hidden.
- Under How you're paid, tap By the hour, By the ton, By the load or By the mile.
- Type your Rate. The label changes to match, like “Rate ($ per ton)”.
- Fill in the Loads and Tons you hauled. If you track miles, add Loaded miles and Empty (deadhead) miles too (see Miles and fuel).
- Under Time, type the Start time, End time and any Unpaid break (min). Or skip those and type the Hours worked yourself.
- Check the box at the bottom. You make is what the job pays after fuel surcharge and broker fee.
- Tap Save job.
Repeat your last job
Inside the full Add job form, look for Same as [day of last job]? for your truck. Tap Yes to reuse the setup and job costs, or Change to adjust them. Today's quantities, times, ticket numbers and paid status start fresh. On the Jobs & loads tab, use Log today instead.
Only the fields you need
The Type of work hides measurements that usually do not apply: dump/aggregate hides load number and mileage; long haul and hot shot show tons when paid by the ton and only show the minimum-hour guarantee when paid by the hour; last mile hides tons and loaded/deadhead miles. Use Show all fields to reveal them. Hiding a field never clears its saved value.
Paid per ton
Tap By the ton, type the Rate ($ per ton) and the Tons from your tickets.
132.4 tons × $7.50 a ton = $993.00
Paid per hour
Tap By the hour and type the Rate ($ per hour). Hours come from your start and end times, minus the unpaid break. If you type Hours worked, that number is used instead.
6:30 to 16:00, 30-minute break = 9 hours
9 hours × $115 an hour = $1,035.00
Paid per load
Tap By the load, type the Rate ($ per load) and the number of Loads.
11 loads × $95 a load = $1,045.00
Paid by the mile instead? Tap By the mile. Pay is your Loaded miles times the Rate ($ per loaded mile).
Minimum-hour guarantees
Many jobs promise a minimum number of paid hours, even if the plant shuts down early. Fill in Minimum-hour guarantee under Guarantee, surcharge & fees and the app checks it for you.
On hourly jobs
Type the minimum hours, like 8. If you worked less, you're paid for the minimum at your hourly rate.
Worked 5.25 hours at $110, with an 8-hour minimum
8 hours × $110 = $880.00 (instead of $577.50)
On per-ton and per-load jobs
Type the minimum hours and the Guarantee rate ($/hr). If the minimum hours times the guarantee rate beats what the tons or loads earned, you're paid the guarantee.
90 tons × $7.50 = $675.00 earned by the ton
8 hours × $105 guarantee = $840.00, so the guarantee is paid
When a guarantee kicks in, the box says so, and the job shows a Guarantee paid tag in your list.
Fuel surcharge and broker fee
Fuel surcharge % is added on top of your pay. Broker fee % is taken out of your pay plus the surcharge.
Pay $993.00 + 5% fuel surcharge ($49.65) = $1,042.65
Minus 8% broker fee ($83.41) = $959.24 you make
Billing and getting paid
Under Billing, add the Invoice # and any Notes. When the money comes in, check Paid (the Date paid fills in with today).
On the Jobs & loads tab, each job shows a tag: Due with the date it's due, Past due in red, or Paid. Each job also has these buttons:
- Mark paid or Mark unpaid
- Copy to today starts a new job with the same broker, site, rate and fees, with the loads, tons and times cleared.
- Edit opens the job. To remove it, tap Delete inside.
